One of the speakers at OnCopyright 2010 was Nick Bertke, also known as Pogo. He’s right on the edge of remix culture creating music from a myriad of little sounds found in film. Infringement, fair use, or something else? Certainly there’s nothing about what he does that detracts from the value of the original. If anything, the compositions that Pogo creates are loving homages to the films he uses as source material. I dig ‘em.

I don’t know how much of this article is factual vs. anecdotal, although it would not surprise me at all if Mark Zuckerberg is in fact as big of a dick as it makes him out to be. Not that there’s anything wrong with that; some of the most successful entrepreneurs in history have been colossal assholes—including the CEO of my favorite fruit-named technology company.
